My name is Kristian de Groot. I began teaching at VHS Dresden in autumn 2026, bringing with me seven years of experience teaching English to adults, primarily in exam preparation settings. I hold two qualifications from Cambridge English, a department of the University of Cambridge: a C2 Proficiency certificate, their highest-level English language exam, and a CELTA certificate, globally recognised as a leading credential for teaching English as a foreign language. Prior to joining VHS Dresden, I taught at language schools in Prague and Madrid, and have been working as an independent online instructor since 2020.
What drew me to VHS Dresden is the opportunity to work within a well-established adult education institution with a genuine commitment to its learners and its community.
My aim as a teacher is to give students not only the language skills they need to succeed, but also the confidence to use English naturally and effectively in real-world situations.
