Andrea Mbarushimana is a poet and artist from the UK. She has performed across the UK and Ireland and published three books with Indie presses. Andrea recently penned poetry and lyrics for Talking Birds 'It Takes a City,' performed in Coventry's iconic old and new cathedrals, about the subject of bomb disposal. Her work is strongly influenced by community and social justice themes. Andrea makes a living through commissions, leading workshops and mentoring up and coming writers. She has been commissioned by the BBC and The British Council and has collaborated with poets and animators from Poland and Zimbabwe. Her work has been found on brick walls, shop windows, in chapels, council buildings and even in a poetry vending machine in Dresden. She's currently Coventry's Poet Laureate.
